The waiting game

It seems like forever but in reality it has only been about 5 days. The I Am Poor application was submitted to the App Store last week and I’ve been routinely checking up on the status of it. So far … it’s still “In review”.

A note about the app itself: it’s a joke application which is also my first attempt at writing anything in Xcode. It’s a set of cobbled-together pieces that are helping me understand the entire process from writing Objective C to getting something published on the App Store and into people’s hands. While I could have probably waited to create a serious application I felt that it would simply take too long and the project would just get shelved. This app at least lets me experiment and get some forward progress, even if it is in public view.

What’s next is possibly the implementation of an idea for a game that will require actual serious programming in 2D, if not 3D. It will need to understand where the user touches the screen, it will have animations, sound, and more. That is definitely a more-than-a-weekend project.
